I am a teacher by profession, a writer and sociologist by choice. In thirty-five years of facilitating learning I’ve taught in England and Australia, before returning to Ireland in 1988 to further my career in one of Dublin’s most innovative Colleges. In the years since then until my recent early retirement to focus my energy on writing, I co-ordinated Art and Design programmes, worked with Second-Chance education, and was involved for several years in the development of Ireland’s first courses in Classical and Computer Animation programmes that have subsequently produced world class animators, the most notable being the 2010 Academy Award winner for his work on the film ‘Avatar’.
